PA­TRYC­JA PIEKU­TOWS­KA is one of the most fa­mous Pol­ish vi­o­lin­ists. She is a Pro­fe­sor Ph.D. in mu­sic arts.

She is the first ever vi­o­lin­ist in Poland award­ed the great­est mu­si­cal prize — MI­DEM Cannes Clas­si­cal Award 2008 for the record­ing of K. Pen­derec­ki Capric­cio for a vi­o­lin and sym­pho­ny or­ches­tra with the Com­pos­er con­duct­ing him­self.

She has pur­sued an in­ten­sive solo ca­reer in Poland and abroad for 16 years. For­eign tours have tak­en her to 28 coun­tries (Al­ba­nia, Ar­genti­na, Aus­tria, Bel­gium, Bo­livia, Brazil, Chile, Chi­na, Den­mark, Equador, France, Ger­many, Hol­land, In­dia, Ire­land, Italy, Kuwait, Peru, Por­tu­gal, Rus­sia, Ser­bia, Spain, Swe­den, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uruguay, Unit­ed States and Venezuela).

The high­lights of her ca­reer in­clude more than 50 con­certs in South Amer­i­ca, in­clud­ing sea­son open­ing of Teatro Colon with Buenos Aires Sym­pho­ny Or­ches­tra (the first per­for­mance in that hall of the sec­ond Wieni­aws­ki vi­o­lin con­cer­to), one in Mon­te­v­ideo with a Sym­pho­ny Or­ches­tra, nu­mer­ous ones in Chile (Con­cep­cion, Fru­til­lar, La Ser­e­na, Pun­ta Are­nas, Val­paraiso, Vina del Mar) and one with the San­ti­a­go de Chile Phil­har­mon­ic Or­ches­tra (2003) this lat­ter was de­clared in a ra­dio poll to be the best soloist per­for­mance of the sea­son. In May 2007 she toured Peru and Chile giv­ing sev­er­al recitals.

Febru­ary 2008 she gave con­certs in Venezuela, both recitals and per­for­mances with the Orques­ta Sin­fon­i­ca Ju­ve­nil de Carabobo in Puer­to Ca­bel­lo and Va­len­cia. She was hon­oured with Or­den Gen­er­al en Jefe "Juan Jose Flo­res" Uni­ca clase.

She grad­u­at­ed from the Chopin Mu­sic Uni­ver­si­ty in War­saw, get­ting a diplo­ma with dis­tinc­tion and from two-year post-­grad­u­ate mas­ter de­gree stud­ies with Mae­stro Igor Ois­trakh at the Roy­al Con­ser­va­to­ry in Brus­sels, gain­ing the “­Grand Dis­tinc­tion” diplo­ma in 2002 Since 2002 Pieku­tows­ka has been teach­ing at the Chopin Mu­sic Uni­ver­si­ty in War­saw, since 2010 has been a pro­fes­sor at the Art Acade­my in Szczecin.

In June and Oc­to­ber 2005 she toured Chi­na (with per­for­mances at the coun­try’s biggest mu­sic event, the “Bei­jing Mu­sic Fes­ti­val”). Septem­ber 2006 saw her pro­mote her CD in Al­ice Tul­ly Hall at the Lin­coln Cen­ter in New York where she got a few-minute long stand­ing ova­tion.

Be­side MI­DEM Award she re­ceived CD Awards in Lux­em­bourg, Bel­gium, Italy and Spain. Pieku­tows­ka gave many con­certs in 2008 to cel­e­brate Pen­dereck­i’s 75th birth­day in the USA (Wash­ing­ton DC, New York), Ger­many, Ire­land and Poland, where she had the hon­our to play dur­ing the open­ing con­cert of Pen­dereck­i’s Fes­ti­val in the Phil­har­mon­ic Hall in War­saw.

In Jan­uary 2009 she per­formed in Cu­riti­ba, Brasil and gave Mas­ter Class­es on the 27th Fes­ti­val Ofic­i­na de Mu­si­ca. In Febru­ary and April she gave recitals in Spain and Por­tu­gal.

In May 2009 she re­leased her lat­est CD, “The Pow­er of Emo­tion”, con­tain­ing very sen­su­al and beau­ti­ful vi­o­lin and pi­ano minia­tures such com­posers as Rah­mani­noff, Pi­az­zol­la, Williams, Massenet to name the few.

In Au­gust 2009 she played in Rus­sia for the first time giv­ing a Pol­ish mu­sic recital at the Pushkin Mu­se­um’s White Hall in Moscow.

In 2010 she re­turned on stage af­ter giv­ing birth to her dear­est son. She per­formed con­certs in Moscow pro­mot­ing her solo vi­o­lin recital. In Oc­to­ber she pro­mot­ed the same recital in Madrid open­ing the sea­son of Fun­da­cion BBVA Solo Recitals Fes­ti­val.

In De­cem­ber 2010 she per­formed Chopin Pi­ano Trio in Weill Hall at the Carnegie Hall in New York dur­ing the of­fi­cial cel­e­bra­tion of The Chopin Year Pro­ject.

In Febru­ary 2011 she made the Pol­ish pre­miere of Fabi­an Panisel­lo Vi­o­lin Con­cer­to, one of the most im­por­tant com­posers of our times, with Panisel­lo con­duct­ing him­self. In March and April she per­formed in Bei­jing (so­lo recitals) and Wuhan (Siebe­lius vi­o­lin con­cer­to with Wuhan Sym­pho­ny or­ches­tra).

In May 2011 she pro­mot­ed her great pro­ject "So­lo Vi­o­lin Recital from Bach un­til Pen­derec­ki" tour­ing Peru, Bo­livia and Equador as well as per­form­ing at the Na­tion­al Opera Recital Hall in War­saw.

In July 2011 she per­formed Sibelius vi­o­lin con­cer­to in Tian­jin (Chi­na) with Tian­jin Sym­pho­ny Or­ches­tra.

In May 2012 she was in­vit­ed to high­light the event cel­e­brat­ing War­saw — Bei­jing air con­nec­tion by Lot Pol­ish Air­lines. The con­cert was held in Bei­jing and was at­tend­ed by the First Lady Anna Ko­morows­ka.

Dur­ing the Oc­to­ber 2012 Chi­na tour with Sin­fo­nia Iu­ven­tus she per­formed in such renowned con­cert halls as Tian­jin Grand The­ater, Chi­na Na­tion­al Cen­ter for the Per­form­ing Arts, Wuhan Phil­har­mo­ny, Harbin Hall.

In March 2013 she played pieces by Lu­toslaws­ki and Górec­ki with Cu­riti­ba Phil­har­mon­ic or­ches­tra in Brasil, where­as in April 2013 the artist toured Chile and Ar­genti­na with a solo vi­o­lin recital.
